Shoot results & Breaking News 2011

The 2nd MetGL CSA Annual Inter-Provincial Christmas Clay shooting competition held at Sporting Targets Shooting Ground at Riseley in Bedfordshire on Saturday 19th November 2011

Once the morning fog lifted it turned out to be a glorious sunny November day which led for some great shooting especially on the awesome high towers on site.

Happy to report MetGL CSA lads won the team event this year with Terry Derek & Sam taking home the silverware with a great team score of 230 beating home team Bedfordshire into 2nd place with a score of 212.

Masonic high gun was won by Mark Cotterell of Bedfordshire with 79 narrowly beating our own Terry Harris into 2nd on 77. Mark also went on to win the High tower Pool Shoot challenge with a great score of 13 ex 15.

Guest team of the day were the Super Vitruvians who won with a score of 217 beating the Browning's & Beretta's into 2nd place with 203.

A big thank you goes out to Tess & the team from Sporting Targets who looked after us superbly and made for a great event

Masonic Home-Counties Competition this year hosted by MetGL CSA was held at Southdown Gun Club on Saturday 20th August 2011

This years event saw us in the heart of the Sussex countryside with clear skys & sunshine which made for great shooting conditions all be it on a rather tougher course than maybe some of us are used to, but it was set up for the British Masters which is being shot there the following week.

The win at the end of the day went to Surrey with a well shot team score of 237 beating Sussex into 2nd place with 230. Try as we might Silverware was denied us on this occassion with MetGL CSA coming in 3rd with a total of 211.

The guest competition was taken by the Super Vitruvians with a score of 197 beating 2nd place team The 9 millimeters (MetGL CSA Guests) with a score of 176.

Well done to Glen Boxall of Surrey who not only helped his team to victory but also took Masonic high gun with the highest score of the day of 82, impressive shooting especially considering the the toughness of the course.

Glen also took the Pool shoot with a score of 19.

A big mention must also go to Southdown Gun Club who made everyone very welcome and made it possible for the great day that it was.

The final result saw West Lancs take the top prize with a team score of 258 narrowly beating Surrey into 2nd place with 252, with Cornwall finishing one point behind on 251.
